今回、韓国のクライアントからの依頼で、日本の中古服を仕入れたいと言うことで、リサイクル業界の知人から紹介をもらい、石川県まで専門卸の会社に向かいました。金沢は今回で５回目。コロナ禍前までは上場企業との接点もあった事から少しだけ地理感がある地域です。

初の古着業界、正直ゴミにしか見えないというのが最初の感想でした。ところが説明を聞きながら中身を見てみると、ブランド品の靴や帽子、衣類などがたくさん入っていました。200円～600円/kgといった価格設定で質によって価格分けしてありました。
私がミーティングにお伺いしている最中にも、福井や富山などから若い方達が買い付けに来ていらっしゃいました。ほとんどの場合は自社店舗やメルカリ・ヤフオクで販売されているとの事でした。それくらい質もよく、きちんと商品写真を撮影すれば、立派な販売アイテムとなるのです。
また最近はAIの進化により、上記の写真のように商品写真加工も簡単に出来るようになり、消費者の目にも止まりやすくなったとも言えるでしょう。また国内の場合は個人のバイヤーさんが多いので、取引量も100kg程度が多いようですが、5万~6万円の仕入れで数十万円もの利益を生む事が出来るのもこの業界の面白さですね。
